Account & Data Deletion

Delete your account and all associated data

You can permanently delete your DetectingLog account at any time directly from the app:

  1. Open the app and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account.
  3. Confirm the deletion.

This removes:

  • Your account and login credentials
  • All cloud-synced hunts, finds, photos, and notes
  • Your subscription record (cancel separately in Google Play if active)

Local device data is also wiped on sign-out.

If you cannot access the app (e.g. lost device, locked out), email support@detectinglog.app from the address tied to your account and we will process the deletion within 30 days.

Delete specific data without deleting your account

You can selectively delete data without removing your account:

  • Individual hunts, finds, or photos: open the item and tap the delete icon.
  • All cloud data while keeping the app installed: Settings → Storage & Export → Delete Cloud Backup.
  • Stop further syncing: Settings → Storage & Export → toggle Cloud Sync off (data stays local-only).

For bulk deletion requests, email support@detectinglog.app.

Data retention after deletion

Deleted data is removed from active systems immediately. Encrypted backups are purged within 30 days. Aggregated or anonymised analytics that cannot be re-associated with you may be retained.
